This is a full game? Really? That’s what I asked myself after playing a couple of levels of Kung Fu Rider. Surely I was missing something — but many rounds later, I kept coming back to that first thought. Even for a launch title of new hardware, this is...

Kung Fu Rider is essentially a terrible example of what Move can offer. Whatever you do, don't judge Sony's new motion sensing hardware on this title...
Good It is occasionally possible to control the game in the manner in which the developers intended. The game case can also be used as a talking point during dinner parties, where you can begin anecdotes with "you'll never believe what I paid $70 for".
Bad Poorly integrated Move controls, which is a kind of game breaker as they're compulsory. Mindless repetition. No plot. It's a tech demo masquerading as a retail game.

Rarely has an idea so flagrantly, joyfully batshit crazy-awesome been turned into a game containing such an inverse level of excitement. You play as a kung fu kicking private eye escaping a cartoon Yakuza through the winding streets of a Japanese city...

The premise is suitably wacky and the presentation evokes Crazy Taxi’s arcade sensibilities more than we expected it to. But that doesn’t change the fact that – compared to the other two Move games reviewed – Kung Fu Rider just doesn’t take advantage o...
Bottom line When it doesn’t work, you’ll absolutely hate it. But when it does work, there’s some fun to be had with Kung Fu Rider. The problem is, it doesn’t last very long before you get bored. Still, it’s one for parties, apparently. 6.5/10Print this pageComment...

Kung Fu Rider is a great game. It could even be an awesome game, but somewhere along the development cycle it seems that someone at Sony convinced their Japan Studio that it needed to have Playstation Move controls, only. That’s when things went south...

The mafia has been known to do seedy things to exert control over people, but even it would be ashamed of the line it crosses in Kung Fu Rider. Sharply dressed assailants leap from behind parked cars, jump down from scaffolding, and emerge from shadowy...

Bottom line The simple fact is Kung Fu Rider would have fared better on a traditional joypad (it still wouldn’t be that much fun), therefore making the entire game ultimately pointless. Studio Japan has blatantly given a half-arsed approach to their first PS Move...
