If you’re looking for a smartphone in a sleek disguise, Shadow is an interesting choice. Though it runs Windows Mobile, it’s really more like a souped-up messaging phone than a smartphone. The custom UI is a great touch.
Good Shadow is a sleek slider with a custom interface and jog dial that make it easier to use than the average Windows Mobile smartphone. The SureType keypad fits a QWERTY layout into the space of a regular numerical keypad but has larger buttons than the...
Bad Not everyone will like Shadow’s keypad. Wider than most slider phones. Less powerful than many smartphones. No touchscreen. EDGE is slow for Web browsing.
Bottom line If you’re looking for a smartphone in a sleek disguise, Shadow is an interesting choice. Though it runs Windows Mobile, it’s really more like a souped-up messaging phone than a smartphone. The custom UI is a great touch.

The Shadow's name stays the same, but it gets a handful of upgrades, and new colours (drab sage green gives way to white mint and black burgundy).Rather than have a two-tone front face, the top half of the slider T-Mobile Shadow handset is now finishe...
Bottom line The T-Mobile Shadow is a decent tweener Windows Mobile smartphone with a pretty face. Call quality isn't the best we've heard, but it's adequate. Whether this phone is worth the cost, depends entirely on what sort of deal you get from the carrier...

Were not used to being wowed by T-Mobile phones, since the trendiest and flashiest models usually go to other carriers, but the Shadow is a beautifully designed creation.

Video Review: Will average messaging Joes mind a cupcake made out of Windows Mobile if theres tasty, pretty icing on top? We open up HTCs newest smartphone to find out.
Good Nice material design. Neo interface is very spiffy and convenient. Wi-Fi is a fair substitute for 3G, for now. SureType keyboard brings QWERTY to this small device.
Bad Beauty may be skin deep. Neo interface doesnt really improve calling, messaging and other core functions. Wi-Fi but no UMA? Too bad.
Bottom line The T-Mobile Shadow offers real visual improvements over the standard Windows Mobile 6 interface, but we doubt any users will be fooled into thinking this isnt a WinMo phone. The Neo interface looks fantastic, but it actually adds very little funct...
