FRITZ WLAN USB STICK USB 2.0 802.11G++ W TURBO MODE WPA-II GR
The extremely compact USB stick features remarkably easy installation and maximum security. In conjunction with AVM's WLAN access points, it guarantees a high level of security in the wireless LAN. The Berlin communications specialist uses the latest encryption standard, WPA2 (802.11i), with a unique factory-set key. Only this combination provides maximum security out of the box. In addition to the wireless standards 802.11g (54 Mbit/s) and 802.11b (11 Mbit/s), AVM now provides the 802.11g++ turbo mode, for 125 Mbit/s.
The new WLAN USB Stick in combination with a FRITZ! Box WLAN provides both remarkably easy installation and maximum security. Encryption is performed automatically as soon as installation is complete, so that the users don't have to worry about it. In addition to the newest security standard, WPA2 (802.11i), WPA or WEP encryption can also be selected for communication with peers that do not support WPA2. Instead of a generic password, AVM equips each of its WLAN products with a unique key. This makes setting up a secure wireless LAN child's play.
The control software for the AVM FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick allows users to adjust settings to individual situations, and controls the network connection. It also allows users to reduce the USB stick's transmitter power if desired, since maximum power is not necessary in many environments. AVM access points offer similar settings: for example, their transmitter power can be throttled back to as little as six percent of its maximum. Sophisticated power management reduces the USB stick's power consumption drastically, contributing to longer running time on battery power. Furthermore, the new 802.11g++ turbo mode, at 125 Mbit/s, increases the user data rate by about 35 percent over the 802.11g standard.
