If THQ had removed the campaign, brushed up the multiplayer and halved the price, they'd have a smash hit...
  • The adaptation of multiplayer modes, concepts and methods from competing FPS titles is surprisingly robust.
  • Campaign is nonsensical rubbish. Multiplayer needs a bit more variety in maps and equipment. You'll need to download a massive patch before you can even play the game.

Quick review Full review Images (6) News Related Smirk all you like about Homefront - and you probably will - but at least it’s a game with ambition. It’s a game that wants to step into the ring with Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and...

  • There’s no getting past the shortness of the campaign, the sledgehammer approach to storytelling or the unpolished graphics, and while the multiplayer options are much better, they’re not quite good enough to make it a serious rival to Black Ops or Bat...

Since it was announced in early 2009, we’ve really been looking forward to Homefront. There’s something immediately appealing about a bleak, near-future shooter in which the US has been conquered by a brutal North Korean regime, and when you factor in...

Homefront has been a long time coming. Pinned as THQ’s triumphant first-person shooter, the buzz and hype around the game has been ample to prompt the publisher to admit that it already has plans for a sequel, even as this version is hitting shelves. U...
  • Homefront is solid, but the story never grips you like was hoped, and before you know it the end credits are rolling. The shooting is its highlight, but it needed an extra shot of something special. 7.0/10Print this pageComments (0)Share this pageNotic...
