Each system is highly engineered, with each part calibrated to perform to a certain functional level in association with its other parts.

Changing the calibration of one part of the system will impact the performance of other parts. So it is with ink. HP PM302 inks have specific qualities and properties because they are developed and tested in conjunction with specific printing systems. While many third party inks are designed for a particular print head, HP PM302 inks are designed to work with the entire printing system; the print head is just one factor among many, including the system’s color reproduction software, screening, speed, drying process, and more.
