The Chromebook that bends over backwards
You can open this stylish touchscreen Chromebook all the way, until it becomes a tablet. On the way to 360 degrees of tablet fun, you can also stop to configure it as a stand-up display, or a tent-shaped display that lets you place it on a window sill so you can watch videos on the wide-viewing-angle screen while doing the dishes.

Bend it like you want it
The 360° hinge features dual-torque technology, so the panel is very easy to open, but locks in place when you tap, swipe and pinch on the touchscreen – for wobble-free touch control. The panel senses when you place it upside down for “tent mode”, prompting the image and audio channels to flip over automatically.

    Metallic style
The Chromebook R 11 sports a premium aluminum top panel that is made even more attractive with a unique engraving-like pattern. Acer uses special nano-imprint technology to create this sophisticated texturing that helps you to grip the notebook firmly – and which looks as good as it feels.

    Fast at everything
With the latest MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology under the hood, this Chromebook boasts very fast wireless connection speeds and longer signal ranges. It also outperforms most other Chromebooks with its impressive Intel processor that’s based on Braswell micro-architecture, giving it the power to support another rarity for a Chromebook, a super-fast USB 3.0 port.

    Light, with an HDR webcam
At just 19.2mm thin and weighing less than a mere 1.6kg, this stylish notebook floats like a butterfly and slips into your bag with ease. The Chromebook R 11’s built-in webcam supports High Dynamic Range imaging, for clearer photos and brighter video chats.

Simply put, a Chromebook is a device that bridges the gap between tablets and notebooks. Running Google's Chrome OS and supporting a wide range of applications through Google's Play Store, the Chromebook is a less expensive alternative to a Windows-based...

Acer has been a fervent supporter of Google's Chromebook initiative since it launched in 2011. Acer's latest Chromebook is the R11, an Intel-based 11.6in touchscreen laptop with a 360 degree hinge, running ChromeOS. Specs wise it's near the top end for...

Since the release of Windows 10 we've seen lots of laptops with touchscreens and hinges enabling them to be transformed into rather heavy, cumbersome tablets. The R11 from Acer takes this format and brings it to a Chromebook , with varying degrees of succ...
  • The R11 is a decent, if unspectacular device. Having the option to position it in a variety of modes is fun, but the sometimes sluggish performance makes it hard to recommend to anyone who wants to do more than a couple of simultaneous tasks. If your need...

Chromebooks are in an odd spot in the laptop marketplace. Acting essentially as an access point for Google Chrome, their focus is clear and singular: the web. As such, they don't require a lot of power, and we often see a lot of similar specs no matter wh...
